Begin with Persuasion

The first paragraph in your brief after a heading can be a wonderful opportunity to persuade your reader -- the Judge -- to rule for your client. Rather than a dull restatement of the procedural history and the relevant legal principles, why not catch the Judge's attention with a snappy intorduction to set the stage for your client's story?
